Peptides to accelerate healing : r/brokenankles

I added collagen peptides to my protein shakes while healing. maybe just bad luck, maybe just my body reacting at the time maybe it was always meant to be, but my scars began keloiding badly and i stopped taking it once it become a noticable issue. tried to resolve it with lots of scraping, some steroid application and lots of massaging to get them down a bit but at this point even a few years out I'm stuck with them short of surgery to remove and hope they dont come back but at the time, yes I took collagen peptides with the idea of it helping tendon/ligaments Keloids are generally caused by an overgrowth of collagen during healing, so i asked my surgeon and he said he didn't believe it would be a cause, but who knows. he said he didn't think me ingesting collagen peptides would lead directly to keloiding, but the idea is taking in collage would help promote ligament/tendon healing I can't see why it wouldn't also contribute to excess collagen in the area of the scar healing/forming.

Keloids are generally caused by an overgrowth of collagen during healing, so i asked my surgeon and he said he didn't believe it would be a cause, but who knows. he said he didn't think me ingesting collagen peptides would lead directly to keloiding, but the idea is taking in collage would help promote ligament/tendon healing I can't see why it wouldn't also contribute to excess collagen in the area of the scar healing/forming. could have been coincidence who knows

Just my own experience, obviously everyone will have different experiences of their own and this could have just been my body deciding it wanted those scars to keloid
