What is TB-500?

TB-500 is a lab-made peptide based on a small fragment of a natural repair protein found throughout the body (Thymosin Beta-4). It works by helping regulate how cells rebuild their internal structure and by boosting a key blood vessel growth signal, both of which support faster healing. It's used mainly in research and by athletes seeking faster recovery from injuries to muscles, tendons, and ligaments.

How Does TB-500 Work?

It binds to a key structural protein inside cells (actin), helping regulate how cells rebuild their internal scaffolding so they can move and close wounds more efficiently. It also boosts a molecule that triggers new blood vessel growth and helps quiet inflammatory signaling at the injury site.

Materials needed

Your TB-500 vial (lyophilized)

Alcohol swabs

Bacteriostatic sterile water

3 mL syringes (Luer Lock tip)

25G or 27G needles (Luer Lock). Other gauges may also be acceptable.

Sharps container (optional)

Sanitize the rubber stoppers

Attach the needle

Draw the bac water

Pull back on the plunger to draw your desired volume of bacteriostatic water. If you overfill, just push the excess back in until you reach the right marker on the syringe.

Insert the needle into the TB-500 vial

With the bac water in your syringe, insert the needle into the TB-500 vial at a slight angle to avoid pressure buildup.

Release the water gently

Let the water run gently down the side of the vial. Don't inject it forcefully.

Swirl to dissolve

Avoid shaking. Gently swirl, flip, and roll the vial to dissolve the powder.

What Are the Benefits of TB-500?

What research says it may help with, and how it works in the body.

tissue repair

It speeds up healing of muscle fibers and shortens recovery time by helping repair cells travel to the injury site and mature into the cell types needed to fix it.

It helps skin wounds close faster, encourages new blood vessel growth to support healing, and reduces inflammation in both sudden injuries and long-lasting wounds.

It helps repair connective tissue (like tendons and ligaments) with less scarring, and the healed tissue ends up stronger and more functional.

athletic recovery

It helps you bounce back faster from intense workouts, with less muscle soreness and better tissue repair.

By boosting the body's own repair processes, it may strengthen tissues and lower the risk of injury.

It improves the quality of muscle tissue by boosting the body's natural processes for regenerating and repairing it.

neurological

In various research models, it protected nerve cells from damage.

Early lab and animal research shows it improves outcomes after spinal cord injury.

It may protect brain tissue from damage and help it regenerate.

How Long Should a TB-500 Cycle Last?

This breaks down how long a typical TB-500 cycle runs and what research suggests happens at each stage. Research shows that staying on a peptide continuously, without a break, may make it less effective over time.

That's why most research protocols build in a break between cycles, often called a washout period, to let the body reset before starting again.

Frequently Asked Questions About TB-500

Straight answers on reconstitution, dosing, and safety, everything you need to research with confidence. For research reference only.

What is TB-500 and how does it work?

TB-500 is a synthetic peptide derived from thymosin beta-4 (Tβ4), a naturally occurring protein found throughout the body that plays a role in cell migration, blood vessel formation, and tissue repair. It is studied primarily for its potential to support healing of tendons, ligaments, muscles, and skin by upregulating actin, a protein essential for cell movement and tissue remodeling. Unlike BPC-157, which is thought to act more locally at an injury site, TB-500 is generally described as working more systemically throughout the body.

What dosage and injection frequency are typically used in research protocols?

Commonly cited research protocols use a 'loading phase' of roughly 4-5 mg total per week (often split into 2-3 subcutaneous or intramuscular injections of about 2 mg each) for 4-6 weeks, followed by a lower maintenance dose of around 2-4 mg per week if use continues. These figures come from informal research and vendor/community sources rather than clinical trials, and no standardized human dosing exists because TB-500 has not gone through FDA-regulated dose-finding studies.

What side effects have been reported?

Most commonly reported effects are mild and transient, including headache (especially in the first 1-2 weeks), temporary redness or irritation at the injection site, and occasional fatigue after early doses. Less common but more serious reported reactions include fever, rash, hives, severe itching, vomiting, or blistering at the injection site, in which case discontinuing use and seeking medical attention is generally recommended. Because TB-500 has not been through formal human clinical trials, the full side-effect profile, long-term safety, and rare-event rates are not well established.

Is TB-500 legal, and is it approved for human use?

TB-500 is not approved by the FDA (or equivalent regulators) for human use and has not completed clinical trials. It is typically sold labeled 'for research use only, not for human consumption,' and it is legal to purchase and possess in that context in the US, but using it therapeutically on oneself falls outside approved/regulated use. TB-500 (like thymosin beta-4) is also included on the World Anti-Doping Agency's prohibited list, so it is banned for athletes subject to anti-doping testing.

How is TB-500 reconstituted and stored?

TB-500 is typically supplied as a lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder that is reconstituted with bacteriostatic or sterile water before use. Once reconstituted, it is generally recommended to store the solution refrigerated (2-8°C) and protected from light, and to avoid freezing, as ice crystals can damage the peptide structure. Vials mixed with bacteriostatic water (which contains a preservative) are commonly cited as stable for up to about 28 days refrigerated, while water without a preservative shortens the usable window considerably. Unreconstituted lyophilized powder is generally more stable and can often be stored frozen for longer periods until mixed.

Why do people combine TB-500 with BPC-157 (the 'Wolverine stack')?

TB-500 and BPC-157 are frequently discussed together as the 'Wolverine stack' because they are believed to act through complementary mechanisms: BPC-157 is described as promoting localized repair and blood vessel growth at a specific injury site, while TB-500 is described as supporting broader, systemic cell migration and tissue regeneration. Advocates suggest this combination may address both the local and systemic aspects of soft-tissue healing, though this combined use has not been validated in controlled human studies.

Should TB-500 be avoided by anyone in particular?

Sources commonly advise against TB-500 use by individuals with active cancer or a history of certain cancers, since TB-500 promotes cell migration and proliferation, which could theoretically support tumor growth or metastasis, though this concern is largely theoretical rather than demonstrated in human trials. As with any unapproved research compound, anyone with an existing medical condition, taking other medications, or considering use should be aware that safety in these contexts has not been formally studied.

How is TB-500 typically administered, and does injection site matter?

TB-500 is generally administered by subcutaneous or intramuscular injection rather than orally, since peptides are broken down in the digestive tract before they could take effect. Some protocols suggest injecting near the area of injury (e.g., near a strained tendon) may be preferred by some users for localized effect, while systemic subcutaneous injection elsewhere on the body is also commonly used given TB-500's proposed systemic mechanism. There is no strong clinical evidence establishing an optimal injection site.
