About IGF-1 LR3
IGF-1 LR3 (Insulin-like Growth Factor 1, Long Arg3) is a synthetic 83-amino acid analogue of human IGF-1 with an arginine substitution at position 3 and a 13-amino acid N-terminal extension. These modifications significantly reduce binding affinity to IGF-binding proteins (IGFBPs), extending its effective half-life in research models. IGF-1 LR3 has a molecular weight of approximately 9111.5 g/mol.
IGF-1 LR3 is used in vitro preclinical research investigating insulin-like growth factor receptor (IGF-1R) signalling pathways. Studies have examined its effects on cellular proliferation, differentiation, and metabolic activity across a range of cell culture models, including myoblast and osteoblast systems. It is a standard research tool in cell biology and endocrinological research.
