What is PEG-MGF?
PEG-MGF (pegylated mechano growth factor) is a synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminal E-domain of mechano growth factor (MGF), a splice variant of insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1, designated IGF-1Ec).
It is conjugated to polyethylene glycol (PEG): a process known as PEGylation, in which water-soluble PEG chains are attached to a peptide. PEGylation increases the molecule’s stability, solubility, and circulating half-life relative to the unmodified peptide. It is used as a research chemical to investigate MGF / IGF-1 E-domain peptide biology in experimental models.
