What is IGF-1 LR3?

IGF-1 LR3 (Long R3 IGF-1) is a synthetic analog of insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1). It differs structurally from native IGF-1 in two ways: an arginine substitution for glutamic acid at position 3 (the “R3”), and an additional 13-amino-acid extension at the N-terminus (the “Long”).

These structural modifications reduce the molecule’s binding to IGF-binding proteins (IGFBPs) and extend its half-life relative to native IGF-1. Mechanistically, it binds the IGF-1 receptor (IGF-1R). It is used as a research chemical to investigate IGF-1 receptor signaling in experimental models.

IGF-1 LR3 is an experimental research chemical, supplied strictly for laboratory research. Sports Technology Labs makes no claims regarding its effects, and nothing in this listing should be interpreted as describing outcomes in humans or animals.

Regulatory & compliance status

Important regulatory information

Not approved for human use

IGF-1 LR3 is an investigational research peptide. It is not approved by the FDA and is not a drug, food, dietary supplement, or cosmetic. Marketing it for human use is unlawful.

WADA-prohibited

Insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) and its analogues are prohibited by the World Anti-Doping Agency at all times under S2 (Peptide Hormones, Growth Factors, Related Substances and Mimetics) (ref. 3).

Legal status for research

In the United States, IGF-1 LR3 is not a controlled substance and may be legally purchased and possessed for laboratory research use. Other jurisdictions may regulate it differently.
