Peptides in Tested Federdations : r/powerlifting

In my opinion when it comes to stuff like BPC or TB, it would arguably be anti-lifter to ban them from tested competition. They aren’t really performance enhancers as much as they are restorative. I guess you can argue down the line, bouncing back faster from an injury would technically increase your performance faster as opposed to not doing so; but I would much rather see lifters stay healthier for longer. I’m not super privy to peptides, I hear there’s some that help your test/HGH levels- I can understand why those ought to be restricted in tested powerlifting. But when it comes to healing peptides like BPC, if the justification is what I’ve outlined above; why stop there? Why not ban anything else that helps with bone/ligament/tendon/muscle health? I would rather let lifters come back from injury quicker and keep participating and contributing to the sport than leave them sidelined over some peptides. BPC-157 is found in my body, naturally. I'm still natty, check-mate, globalist. T

Context first

Study findings do not automatically establish clinical benefit, safety, dosing, or suitability for an individual.

Tested or untested fed, just assume everyone is on peds. The majority of peptides clear in 2 weeks and in many cases are synthetic or analog amino chains the body naturally makes, like bpc157, tb500, ghk-cu, and multiple others. They gonna ban the synthetic versions of niacin, biotin, C, D, E, Folate, B6, B12? No, of course not. Its all kinda ridiculous, and even when tested lifters ARE clean they still get popped because of a supplement they took that had something on the wada list. See ray williams.

Untested lifter here. Peptides are definitely a performance enhancer, from recovery to tissue growth. I take several. They should absolutely be banned from comp and tested for.

If you are going to compete in a natural/drug free fed, you should be drug free.

I know it's a hot take here, but anyone that have ever touched PEDs should be permanently banned from tested powerlifting.

I despise it, and it's not hard to avoid PEDs. You can never go back and be natural after even tho most juice heads want to claim natty because they only took a small amount or a long time ago.

I forgot who said it originally but there is an old saying that a drug test isn’t a drug test it’s an IQ test and there’s a lot of merit to that statement. If you know what you’re doing or have a coach that does then it’s possible to use a lot of banned substances and piss clean.
