The use of GHRH analog therapy is an important consideration for the treatment of GH deficiency disorders in individuals with the intact pituitary gland. Research shows that CJC-1295, a long-acting GHRH analog, resembles the physiological pulsatile secretion of growth hormone [2].
One study was conducted to assess the effect of CJC-1295 in mice with GHRH gene ablation. The subjects were divided into three groups and each received synthetic analog for 5 weeks at intervals of 24, 48 and 72 hours. The results found that the subjects who received daily therapy maintained normal body weight and length. However, the groups who took the drug at intervals of 48 and 72 hours experienced an increase in body weight and length without full growth normalization. These findings suggest that a daily dose of CJC-1295 was able to normalize growth and body composition in GH-deficient mice [3].
Furthermore, another study determined the pharmacokinetics and safety profile of CJC-1295 DAC. The results found that subcutaneous administration of CJC-1295 DAC increased plasma concentration of GH by 2-3 fold for 6 days and IGF-1 by 1.5-3 fold for 11 days. As a GHRH analog, it has been expected to boost muscle mass, improve athletic performance and enhance recovery. Furthermore, research shows that its use has been found among females for youthful appearance [4]. However, these therapeutic claims are not supported by valid scientific studies and it hasn’t been approved by the FDA yet. At Pinnacle Peptides, CJC-1295 DAC for sale is available for research only.
