What is Thymosin Beta-4?

Thymosin beta-4 (Tβ4) is a 43–amino acid peptide naturally present in many mammalian tissues, where it contributes to cellular repair and protection. Its primary function is to bind and regulate actin, a key structural protein, thereby supporting cell movement and cytoskeletal organization. In addition to this role, Tβ4 has been shown to encourage the growth of new blood vessels, limit inflammation, prevent cell death, and speed up the healing of damaged tissues. Because of these wide-ranging biological activities, it has been studied as a potential treatment for cardiovascular conditions, nervous system injuries, eye diseases, and chronic wounds. With its combination of natural regulatory functions and therapeutic potential, Tβ4 is viewed as an important candidate in regenerative medicine research.
